Day 12

 



Left Hilton Head this morning and picked up some fuel on the outskirts of Savannah. The wind picked up today so we had a sporty day sailing through the sounds of George’s very high fluctuating tidal rivers! Jessica and our dog Allie were troopers in the rolling seas! Thank goodness the seas were following us…it could have been worse.  We are anchored in the absolutely middle of nowhere cooking burgers and jalapeño poppers!

    Enjoy, its really pretty country down there. Hilton Head brings back fond memories. Savanna is a pretty town too. Kevin is in your slip for the duration he likes it and will be in the winter series

    Well there is a hurricane in the Caribbean. I think Hurricane Mary, something like that. She is supposed to travel off to the East and up to Bermuda so I wouldn't be surprised if you're getting some of her wake.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
