Day 5



 


Left Barefoot Landing at 10 AM and observed the multimillion dollar mansions on the intercoastal waterway through Myrtle Beach. Then we were blessed with the absolutely beautiful waccamaw river, which was incredibly beautiful with its winding turns and bald Cypress, Gum and Tupelo trees.  We arrived at Georgetown at 5 PM and threw the hook. Took a stroll with Ali downtown and were absolutely blown away by the cute town which happened to have a wooden boat show this weekend. So far, this has been our favorite anchorage and we may elect to stay here again all day Sunday.

    So glad to see the sunshine is being kind to y'all. Stop and smell those roses. And the video you posted, it needed Benny Hill music. That was really fast and at one point I thought Jessica flew right off the boat. I hate to watch it twice just for fun. Lol

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
