Day 21

 




 

We left St Augustine at 7 AM, and made excellent mileage with the wind and tide/current in our favor the whole day. We passed Daytona Beach and made it all the way to new Smyrna Beach where we are anchored for the night. There is a dredge nearby, which is loud, but I appreciate their service to keep the ICW deep enough for our adventure.  Weather has been nice and sunny recently and warmer weather is on the way as the week progresses and we make more miles south. Tonight we are going to cook the infamous hobo pack.  If you need to know the details of the recipe, send me a message. Ha ha…..

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
