Day 22

 










After coffee, we started the morning with Jessica purifying some drinking water for the next few days.  Every day we think about food, water, fuel, and being safe. It is nice to get back to the basics in life. We saw a number of manatees today, but could not get a good picture. We entered space country and have been able to see the Cape Canaveral Kennedy launch area’s enormous building. We took a walk in downtown Titusville and went to the space museum. I have worked at a lot of control rooms at pharmaceutical companies but to see some actual NASA Control Room equipment and pretend to be operating the controls was kind of funny.  Thanks for everyone’s comments, remember to leave your name because Google just says “anonymous”.     What a wonderful way to see parts of our country ... Scott your hair is getting that wind blown sailor look... That means wavy. Lol your on the water and your hair is wavy ...lol

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
