Day 23

 











Today we broke out the large boxes of minute rice, and Jessica made a whole Ziploc bag full of rice to supplement Wanda‘s homemade salsa and some pesto that Jessica made at Wanda‘s house from her garden. Then, we went over to Cocoa Village and explored the downtown area and found some yummy ice cream. At 8:31, we saw a SpaceX rocket takeoff from here in Space-country. We have been enjoying shorter days sailing as we are getting closer to our departure destination before heading over to the Bahamas, while also awaiting more favorable winds to cross the Gulfstream.

    Living life large...day and night. Ali is already on island time....Scott dressed for warmer weather ... And Jessica's smile brightening up every picture. Love you all and am glad I can visit you each day this way. Wanda

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
