Day 24

 





Today saw the moon set at sunrise then we finally worked out details of getting the rest of our prescription drugs forwarded to the CVS in Cocoa Beach.  I guarded the dinghy, and Jessica took an Uber to the drugstore. This is one of the only pictures I have ever taken of Jessica holding a phone as she waits for the Uber driver (she is not a phone person).  We have developed a small transmission leak from the outlate flange in the diesel engine.  So we are trying to coordinate a tech to check on it when we get to Stuart FL this weekend.  We are anchored in the absolute middle of nowhere. We are going to settle in and play some Wheel of Fortune and cook pork chops with apples. Does anyone remember Peter on the Brady Bunch saying, “pork chops, and applesauce” when he impersonates Humphrey Bogart?

    Love that episode, "Pork chops and applesauce, isn't that swell." They just go together. Wheel of Fortune is good, but Jeopardy is better. Unfortunately, because Disney and YouTube TV can't get along, they've pulled the ABC affiliates from our YouTube TV. As a result, we have to wait a day and catch the episode of Jeopardy on Disney +. For real, the pace of life you are living is the right one not dependent on anybody but yourselves. I love it! Wanda

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
