Day 29

 





We woke up to 45° and the wind howling which makes for an interesting dinghy ride to bring Alli for her walk. But then I looked at the temperatures in the rest of the United States and realized we were actually fortunate! It did get up to 65 today. We are still awaiting a weather window and thinking possibly Sunday or Monday might be a good time to cross over to the Bahamas. Kim will be joining us on Saturday if there continues to look like that’s our weather window.  Jessica and I took a walk to the seafood market and got some scallops and enjoyed stretching our legs.  We took the opportunity to purify some water and make a few batches of rice for the next week.  We are hoping tomorrow the seal kit will arrive for the transmission repair.  One luxury that we miss is ice. So our friends on the Mooring ball beside us Tim and Carolyn brought us a bag of ice which we are thoroughly enjoying.  Happy Veterans Day to all that have served our country.

    It was downright cold here in Princeton this morning!
    You should look into getting one of those small countertop ice makers, we got one for the camper and it’s awesome! Those scallops look delicious, hope they were!! -Bryan & Lorae

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
