Day 32

 




Jessica did our laundry today while I double checked the navigation charts to the Bahamas. Then we went for a dinghy ride and found a nice beach at the confluence of the St. Lucie river, Manatee pocket, intercoastal, waterway, and Atlantic ocean St. Lucie Inlet. We let Alli run around and she continues to amaze us how she has healed up from her broken toe injury. We were ready to get off the boat and do something different for dinner so we walked to a Mexican restaurant and had a really nice dinner.  Looking forward to having my sister Kim come on Saturday.  Then we will prepare for the Bahamas crossing hopefully on Sunday afternoon. Fingers crossed for good weather conditions….

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
