Day 33

 





Today we started by leaving the Mooring ball for a hour to fill up with gas and diesel. Jessica took the opportunity to fill the water tank so they will be topped off for crossing to the Bahamas. My sister Kim drove over from St. Petersburg and took us grocery shopping and then dropped her car off at West Palm Beach . We had an excellent evening catching up and eating a rotisserie chicken. We feel so fortunate to have this opportunity tomorrow to cross over to the Bahamas. We are hoping to leave Florida early Sunday afternoon and reach the little Bahama bank sometime in the wee hours of the morning.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
