Day 38 Marsh Harbor


 








Woke up in green turtle key at a marina for the first time in over a month. Jessica filled the water tanks and I got some diesel.  Kim went for a walk and turned in the golf cart. Made our way to Marsh Harbor today. Put the big motor on the dinghy and went out to mermaid reef and snorkel around a bit. But the highlight of the day was going out to eat dinner with my soulmate and my sister. We had some mahi-mahi and accidentally had pulled the dinghy up to the wrong dock. So after dinner we realized that we were locked out of the dock area, but no fear, because Kim scaled the fence and unlocked the gate for Jessica and I.

    I remember Kim’s moto is - proceed until apprehended… forgiveness is easier to get than permission… so over the fence she went. Sounds like all of you had another fine day ! Dad

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.
