Day 40


 








This morning we said our “see you later” to Kim….it was such a joy to spend a week with my Sister! We will miss her dearly! Jessica and I took a stroll through Marsh Harbour, with Alli in the dog stroller, yes we are now one of those dog parents with a dog stroller, but given her broken toe, we think it’s justified! Jessica and I went for a swim off the back of Methuselah, then played a game of Battle Ship….then we grilled some pork chops.  Sunday we are planning on doing some grocery shopping and then heading over to Hope Town.

    Allie looks completely comfortable and you look like natural parents...complete with liquor... Enjoying the local rum? Have you tried it on cereal yet?

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
