Day 43 - Marsh Harbor then Man-O-War Cay

 






Jessica and I  strolled down the streets of the quaint village of Hopetown this morning. Then we got word that Wanda‘s shipment of Jessica‘s contact lenses had arrived in Marsh Harbor.  So we motored  over to charge up the batteries and went into town stopping by the grocery store to top off our provisions. Jessica got her contact lenses and we sailed  over to man-of-war Cay. Took a short walk on the beach and have fallen in love with this Cay.  We cooked some burgers on the grill and are enjoying the wonderful weather.

    Do they have turkeys in Hope Cay?

    Yup, lost my sandals off that crazy high dock. The town is quite nice. I believe my buddy and I had Thanksgiving there actually.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
