Day 61 Arrival at Spanish Wells

Well, no mahi last night, but I caught some seagrass.  We left Great Guana Cay yesterday at 10 AM and stopped to get fuel and the wind was right at sunset, so we ventured on the ocean passage to the Elethura chain of cays. It was a nice sail but a little rolly as the winds were blowing 15 to 18 gusting to 20 just like Chris Parker‘s weather forecast. Somehow or another Jessica and Alli were able to catch some cat naps in the V berth, but it was not a great night sleep for them. We got to the outskirts of the Bahama bank at 1 AM, and just like the gulf stream crossing, I was reluctant to go into the shallow bank in the pitch pitch dark. So I did 1 mile radius circles for five hours until it got light enough to safely traverse the bank. We got to Spanish Wells around 9 AM. Boy wasI tired. We took a dinghy ride through the canal of Spanish Wells and are looking forward to exploring on foot tomorrow.   No pictures today 😢.

  2. Oh my! This makes me nervous. If I weren’t so very confident of your skills I wouldn’t sleep at night. Jessica, you really do trust him…with your life even. We cover you two with prayers and love you so much! Mom

  5. Caught seagrass? Put it in the toilet, I hear that's normal... Get some well deserved rest... I'm hoping things will be less stressful for a while and you can enjoy your new location.
