Day 64 Side Trip To Harbour Island

Oreos small bag $10….we did not buy them.

Yes a phone booth!

Conch Christmas Tree.

Dog is alive.

Today we took a ferry ride over to Harbour Island. It was actually two ferry rides with a land taxi in between. Harbor Island reminded us of Hopetown, but just on a larger scale. Jessica and I like to blend in with what the local folks are doing. We enjoy walking the back streets and taking in their culture. However, at the end of the walk, we ventured into a resort and even though it was over the top nice, we both agreed that given the choice, we would prefer to blend in with the Bahamian culture.  We also made a run to the supermarket which had a great variety of foods compared to yesterdays store. The only catch was we had to walk a half mile to get there.  Finally, the northern blow is over that brought all the cold temperatures to the United States. It was two days of cloudy and windy weather, so tomorrow is back to beach activities!

  2. The colors that they paint their homes are so cheerful and tropical. I imagine they would think the gray houses with a white trims are pretty boring back here in the states. The school is adorable, and some of the local landscapes are just beautiful. That tree reminds me that it is Christmas even there. I forget that when I look at all these beautiful pictures you send. So it's nice to see a little Christmas in the Bahamas.
