Day 70 Chore Day

 





Jessica does not use the propane clothes dryers so we hung them on the lifelines to dry. 


Today was chore day as we waited out the windy conditions. The grassy sea bottom at this anchorage does not have good holding for the anchor so I snorkeled down and set a second anchor this morning.  Then we walked a half mile to the laundromat with our dirty clothes over our shoulders. When we got there, we realized that we should have brought the dog stroller to carry our laundry.  We found a local water bottling service with reverse osmosis water so we filled up the 5 gallon jugs to last us a few more days. The winds are howling, so tonight we are going to put the Christmas tree lights on and watch a movie.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
