Day 73 Christmas Day on Anchor

 




Merry Christmas to our friends and family that are reading this!!!  We started the day with a delicious breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns.  We went for a snorkel today and saw a stingray, more reef fish, a school of barracudas, and thousands of jellyfish.  They had these electrical lights running down the veins on the edges of the jellyfish. And luckily they were not the stinging kind because they were rubbing against our chin and face.  We talked to some of our family on the phone, and prepared a Christmas dinner for the two of us.  I read aloud from the New Testament in Mathew and Luke about Jesus‘s birth, the whole reason for the season!

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
