Day 79 Slow Day Waiting on Northwest Wind to Ease Up

Today was a bit of a slow day. We took the dinghy into Governors Harbor and did some laundry. Then we ate at the “fast food “restaurant. Literally, that was the name of the restaurant. I think we were her only customers this day. And we interrupted her crossword puzzle to cook us a burger. We had quite a sporty dinghy ride  back to Methuselah with clean laundry. I had to go extra extra slow to prevent salt spray from getting on our clean laundry. We had a nice walk on the beach and watched a “2025 year in review”, and we reflected on our year together, and remembered our beloved sheltie, Ami!

    Well, I guess you know it's a slow day when Scott's applying his photographic skills to the local washing machine! Too funny.

    This is the time of year when reminiscing and reflecting help us set goals for the upcoming year. Sometimes we don't think we're moving forward until we look backward. Love you both. Happy New Year!

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
