Day 102 The Washing Machine, but not what you think!

Jessica, Noelle, and I went to the washing machine. We did not do laundry but instead we found a Tidal Creek that emptied into the ocean that would spin the current around with Eddy‘s that was an absolute blast. The wind laid down so with no ripples on the water it was crystal clear and absolutely beautiful. We are in the Exuma’s Land and Sea Park and feel like we are in heaven. After lunch, we went to a sand spit where the warm water was coming out of the mangroves so no wetsuit was needed. We are still contemplating the water temperature, but it was at least in the low 90s.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
