Day 108 Enjoying the Tiown

Mail boat = fresh veggies in town.




Today we celebrated Jessica‘s sister Noelle‘s last full day with us. We went into Staniel Cay and the ladies went to the gift shop and they let me stay on the dinghy. Yahoo. Noelle verified the location of the Metropolitan airport terminal here in Staniel Cay for her flight tomorrow morning. Then Noelle treated us to an excellent lunch: conch fritters, cheeseburger and french fries. We were in heaven! Then we took Noelle to the grocery store and stocked up on a few fresh veggies, etc., to prepare for the Saturday and Sunday’s upcoming blow. She got a real kick out of the quaintness of the stores and now she understands why we don’t make a grocery list, you just go and buy what they have.

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
