Day 80 Secluded Beach

Happy New Year to all. Last night, during New Year’s Eve, we were pretty tired at 10 PM so we went to sleep. We had set the alarm for 11:55 to bring in the new year. When we woke up with the sunrise, I remembered that the alarm did go off, but I did not remember why it was alarming at 11:55 PM, so I simply cut off the alarm while half sleeping. Jessica never even woke up, so we had our New Year’s eve kiss in the morning. After a somewhat rolly night on anchor at Governors Harbor, we sailed north. We thought about making it all the way to Spanish Wells today however, after beating into the wind and waves after an hour we decided to anchor at Alabaster Cay. We stumbled upon a gem as the water was gin clear with different shades of green and blue. We hung out under the Shibumi shade on a sandbar at low tide. We saw a nurse shark making rounds back-and-forth in the shallows. I did some snorkeling for a bit, but this cold front cooled the water down to 80°, which was a bit chilly after an hour.

  2. These pictures are so beautiful...I love the ripples in the sand...and it tickles me to see Allie wading through water like it's the dog park. I feel warmer just looking at that gorgeous sunshine. Happy New Year 🎊
