Day 81 Beach Restaurant

 




We sailed back north to Spanish Wells to be close to the airport for our friend Jason coming on Sunday. We have now experienced the coolest weather in the Bahamas. We actually wore a long sleeve shirt in the evening and it got down to 67° in the boat. Jessica and I took advantage of visiting a restaurant on the beach right beside our Anchorage.  They have been few and far between here in Eleuthera. We started with our favorite, which is conch fritters. I got the cracked conch and Jessica got the conch tacos. It is also rare to eat fried food in the Bahamas so we took advantage and thoroughly enjoyed the french fries!

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
