Day 82 Paradise in a Slip
Jessica and I did some rearranging and cleaning on Methuselah today to prepare for our friend Jason‘s arrival on Sunday. Then we took a break and went to the beach for three hours and walked around in waste deep water, and again was mesmerized by the clarity of the water. We literally just heard Will Smith sing…”water so clear you can see to the bottom!”. We decided to rent some dock space from a local for two nights in order to fill up on water easily and prepare for Jason‘s arrival with an easy grocery store stocking of our provisions. However, when entering the harbor, we were face-to-face with a huge barge that was trying to get through the same narrow channel. We were already committed into the narrow spot, so fortunately, the barge put it into reverse and waited until we got into the harbor. We feel like we have entered into the Taj Mahal. We have unlimited use of water and electricity. We took showers and let the water run even while we lathered up. It was such a treat. We were able to run the air conditioning without the loud generator running. We were able to turn on all the iridescent lights in the cabin, not just LEDs while on anchor, so we decided to get a picture of the interior all lit up. Jessica even put socks on her feet because we were treated with air-conditioning tonight. We have trash cans at the end of the dock and we can walk Alli into the grass for her bathroom break without having to get in the dinghy first and look for a beach. This dock is only three blocks from the grocery stores, so we decided to get some provisions, and this time we used our brains and used Allie‘s dog stroller to help carry the load of the groceries to the boat. While shopping, Jessica forgot she was pushing the stroller in the store and left it in the aisles a few times while we were browsing . Good thing there was no baby in the stroller!!

The interior of Methuselah is looking good!!
ReplyDeleteWas Jessica nervous when you were playing chicken with a barge?? 😊
So you took $20 showers? What a treat!
ReplyDeleteNo l wasn’t nervous for a second. I knew Scott had it under control 😊
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all these amazing pictures and videos...the beauty and uniqueness of your journey....I just forget you are basically camping. It makes me appreciate the everyday basics we take for granted.
