Day 83 At Gun Point (the name of the beach!)


 






Shipwreck 


Woke up this morning at the dock and took advantage of free water, so I gave Methuselah a much-needed bath. Jessica tidied up down below, then we took a dinghy ride and found an absolutely beautiful beach with watercolors that changed with depths. The sand was absolutely the neatest texture we had ever felt on our feet. It was exactly like walking on memory foam. And it had a pinkish hue color to the sand. We are waiting on our friend Jason to fly in today, but his flight keeps getting delayed so now we are wondering about whether the water taxi will be available when he finally arrives. No matter, we will get him here!😀

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
