Day 84 Jason is Here








Jason made it to Spanish Wells safe and sound. He treated us to an excellent dinner at wreckers. We all got the wahoo and Jason shared frustrating airport stories. It was really nice to catch up with Jason over dinner.  In the morning, Jessica and Jason walked to the grocery store, while I took the dinghy to get diesel and gas. He made a run to get some beer and much-needed Diet Coke. The owner Buddha was born on this island in the house down the street.  He brought us back to the boat in his golf cart. We sailed over to egg reef, and Jason couldn’t stop talking about how pretty the water is as we were sailing.  We snorkeled on egg reef and saw some really pretty fan coral and colorful fish. I was able to find one lobster which we all shared later for an appetizer.  We stumbled across some swings on the sandbar and visited a beautiful beach.

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
