Day 89 See You Later to Jason


 







It was a sad “ See you later” to Jason. He hopped on the plane today, and Jessica and I went grocery shopping. We sailed to Cape Eleuthera and evaluated the Anchorage, which was pretty roly from the ocean swells. Therefore, we decided to get a slip at the marina. The marina is super nice with free bikes and we did some laundry and laid in the hammock for a bit where I pushed with my leg and we felt like we were in absolute paradise when we watched the sun sink under the horizon. Again, we looked for the green flash, but did not see it. We are in a strategic location to do a half day ocean passage to the Exuma‘s tomorrow.

    That was a sad "see you later"! But i had such a great time aboard Methusela with you both! Memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you both so much for letting me join you for a week of your Bahama adventure, absolutely amazing! Fair winds my friends ❤️

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
