Day 94 Good, Bad, and Better Water
Today we prepared for the cold front and strong winds so we tucked in between little major cay and big major cay. It was also time to replenish the water supply in Methuselah. I did the routine of bringing six of the 5 gallon Jerry cans in the dinghy to the dock to fill with water in order to transport to Methuselah. After paying 50 cents a gallon, the guy pointed to an area of the dock where the water hose was located. However, he forgot to inform me that there were two sources of water. One was ocean saltwater, and one was RO freshwater. So I inadvertently filled the jugs with salt water and subsequently put them in Methuselah’s water tanks. We realized it once we started to purify the water and it quickly clogged the filters. So we spent the rest of the day flushing, the salt water out of Methuselah’s tanks and all is good now. Our friends Tim and Carolyn are at the same anchorage so they invited us over for dinner. I brought some wahoo fillets that I had caught the other day and Tim made conch chowder that was absolutely delicious. Carolyn made a unique croissant with pie crust in her air fryer. Our day had ups and downs, but it ended with an enjoyable evening!

Oh man, that sucks about the water..doh!
ReplyDeleteThe water is a drag, but the party looked like fun with those guys. I saw the BB cruise schedule, and it looks great for 2026. Will y'all be back by then?
ReplyDeleteSo glad it ended well! It is amazing to watch all of your adventures. And I know that Jason was so glad to be there with you all!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice sundowner!
