Day 96 James Bond Thunderball Movie Scene Spectacular Snorkel

Look for turtle in above pic.

Our first snorkel site was off a secluded beach where we found lots and lots of live conch. With our fishing license, we are allowed to keep six queen conchs per day. We picked out the biggest six we could find. I explained to Jessica how excited I was to be snorkeling with her and watching her dive down and collect the conch. I also mentioned how I wish there were lobster here, and Jessica replied with “Scott, we are in conch country” now.  Then we snorkeled at the James Bond movie Thunderball site that involves a cave that is easily accessible at low tide.  I snorkeled in first and checked it out and even though Jessica is a little claustrophobic, I felt she would be fine. Turns out she absolutely loved it and was very comfortable snorkeling around inside this beautiful cave with a large cathedral ceiling. The sea turtles never disappoint, they are always a joy to swim with. We made a grocery store run because the weekly boat arrived today with fresh fruits and vegetables. After making a wonderful conch salad on Methuselah, our friends Tim and Carolyn invited us us over to their boat for a game of Mexican train. A good time was had by all.

  3. Jessica, you look so proud of your ocean haul. Seeing you on the beach with all those shells... That smile. I bet that was the best conch salad you had so far. I love the underwater photography.
