Day 112-113 Chores day and visit with friends from home port




Yesterday, Jessica and I, weathered the end of the last blow by going to the beach and enjoying the sporadic bouts of sunshine between the clouds. Today,  Jessica and I sailed to Black Point. Today was chores day so Jessica did the laundry while I filled up the jugs with water. Then our friends from Blackbeards invited us over for an appetizer on their boat which was a classic 1974 sailing vessel. We had a good time reminiscing about Blackbeards and talking about the days to come. A good time was had by all.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
