Day 115 Southern Most Spot

 





Four like-minded random sailors all happened to be wearing the same blue shirt so we had to get a picture…I’m the one with the goofy Fanny pack…ha, ha….






Today we reached our southernmost destination….Georgetown. We arrived this afternoon so we have not had a chance to explore, but looking forward to it! We found a nice anchorage to ride out the next windy period overnight and tomorrow. And we took Alli to the beach and immediately ran into three other couples that had similar journeys as us and some that we had seen along the way. And there are three other couples here in Georgetown from our home port Blackbeard Sailing Club, so we plan to meet up with them in the days to come.

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
