Day 121 Hike With A Surprise
Look for the snake above.
Today we had an urge to go on a longer hike. We hiked up the hill to the monument and had a spectacular view and mountain-top-high feeling when we came out of the forest. The trail meandered down to the beach, but not before almost stepping on a snake. We heard there were no snakes in the Exuma’s, so now we know they’re actually are. See if you can see the snake in the picture…… super camouflaged. We took the dinghy over to peace and plenty restaurant on the beach for lunch. We started with an appetizer of chicken wings, but they came with french fries so we made it our lunch instead of ordering mahi tacos. My aunt Debbie and uncle Ray went there 40 years ago and I believe it is still the same shack/bar. Jessica and Alli went to the beach and walked some more and Jessica wrote in her journal. I took the dinghy into Georgetown and bought some gasoline for the dinghy and generator, ice for a special mixed cocktail drink tonight, and some fresh veggies for our dinner salad. We ended the day at the beach bar, with a fun game of cornhole….and yes, Jessica is good at this game!
