Day 124 Happy Valentine's Day!

 









Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. This morning I took the dinghy into town and brought my friend Ron Townley from Blackbeards. I waited in line to get gasoline then we hit the grocery store and stocked up on a few veggies, etc. since stores are closed on Sunday. Then Jessica and I went to the tip of sand dollar Beach and walked with Alli and even got her to play a little bit like she did when she was a puppy. Watching Allie full of energy even if it was for only two minutes was her Valentine’s gift to Jessica and I. Then we went over to the beach area where there was at least 75 dinghies pulled up on the beach to watch the rooftop band play music on top of a houseboat. They played everything from Jimmy Buffett to Bob Dylan and Jessica and I ordered a conch salad, our favorite Bohemian meal, to eat on the beach while we enjoyed the music. We exchanged Valentine’s Day letters and read them aloud at the beach during the sunset. Tonight is surf and turf, filet mignon and lobster and portobello mushrooms. We miss everyone back home. It was nice talking on the phone today with Steve, Jason, Michele, and Chris on the phone while they were in the clubhouse making dinner.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
