Day 126 An Adventure to Find Ice Cream
Combining dog food amount with elementary fractions.
This morning on the VHF announcements, we learned that the local bank ran out of money today,… only in the Bahamas. Good thing we brought enough cash with us! I made a run to the grocery store, and Jessica and I calculated how much more dog food we needed. So we took a picture of the cute sketch that we made where we had to compare fractions to determine how much dog food we needed to last until we make it to Florida. Alli is good, we brought enough!Around midday, the clouds lifted, so we decided to take the dinghy for some exploring and ended up at a beautiful beach that supposedly had tamed turtles that you could feed lettuce from your hand. Therefore, we got the lettuce out of our refrigerator and brought it to the beach. We never did find any turtles, but we looked on the Google map and found that there was a nearby ice cream place. Once again, in true. Bohemian style, they had one flavor in stock, vanilla and fudge swirl. We had not had ice cream for a long time, so it was absolutely delicious. We did our evening walk on the beach with Alli, and watched the sun go down on the bow. Tomorrow, we are looking forward to making a campfire and grilling hot dogs on the beach with our Blackbeard friends that are here in George Town.
You guys were smart to have some cash on hand…good planning ! Dad
