Day 140 Relaxation Day

 






After 3 days of being on the helm 7 hours a day, Jessica and I enjoyed a beach day today. We took the dinghy out of the harbor and went by an underwater airplane wreck from the 1980s when there was a lot of drug smuggling in the Bahamas. We made our way over to a beach and enjoyed each other‘s company and listened to Allli bark during a dream while we were sitting in the beach chairs. Alli had dug a hole to find the cool sand to lay in for a nap. For dinner, we are going to enjoy one of the amenities at this marina and grill some hamburgers on the propane grill.

Day 1

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
