Day 141 Dog and Engine Maintenance Day

Manatee under the docks.

This morning, we decided to take advantage of the free water on the dock and give Alli a bath. Jessica spent an hour brushing her hair, and she is really fluffy and pretty looking. Then Jessica cleaned up down below, and I changed the oil in the diesel engine, transmission gear oil, both dinghy outboard engine oils, dinghy gear case oils, and the Honda generator oil. It was kind of nice that all the engines were synced up at about 100 hours and needing an oil change. Jessica and I took the dinghy over into town today and explored the town of Great Harbor Cay.  It was typical of most Bahamian towns we have visited, and had the only grocery store in the Berry Islands. We learned that the mail boat arrives on Saturday, so we decided to plan for a grocery run on Sunday morning to get the most fresh vegetables, which is also the day we are leaving this marina. I saw a manatee, which surprised me because there’s no freshwater around here. Jessica and I got conch salad for dinner and are looking forward to a game of tri-ominoes!

Time lapse coming through the cut and into marina.
