Day 151 Dinghy ride to the “ritzy” side of Bimini
Ritzy Sid elf Bimini
Jessica and I had a nice lunch at Three Sisters restaurant. We both had mahi, never before fried like this but nonetheless it was delicious. Then Jessica and I took a dinghy ride to the ritzy side of Bimini today where it turns into a different world. We saw the casino, new homes, being built, fancy shopping areas, tourists getting off the trolley from the cruise ship. We saw the college spring breakers as they were waiting on their ferry to leave Bimini. We walked by the casino, but decided it was not for us. Then, Jessica saw the ice cream sign!! We have not had our favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream since coming to the Bahamas, so we walked into the touristy ice cream shop and it was so fancy they did not even have ice cream, only gelato. However, we were so full from our mahi lunch that we decided we would come back another day and try the gelato. Then we went over to what I call Conch Shell Beach and spent some time with Alli. This is an island where they have dumped tens of thousands of conch shells through the year. Jessica mentioned that the conch island looked a little different without the piece of driftwood that we took yesterday as a souvenir.😊
