Day 155 Watching For a Weather Window

 

Jessica’s hair is getting much longer. We did not bring hair headbands, so we improvised, and I found a bungee cord in my rope stash to hold her hair out of her face,  I thought this picture was cute as a button.


Due to the windy period for a few days, we moved from the anchorage back to a marina in Bimini to wait on fair weather to cross back to Florida this weekend. We ventured to the grocery store and took hot showers and let the water run and run….. we made friends with our slip neighbors who are just beginning their Bahama adventure. We are going to hunker down  this evening, watch our favorite show and  make curry chicken for dinner. We don’t even need the air-conditioning in a slip for once because it is chilly in the low 70s.

    Resourceful AND YES a very cute picture! Looks like you are in our old spot and you met another couple starting their journey just like we were! Love this life!- even when you get "stuck" in Bimini. Glad you all are having fun! We made it to the exumas and stoked just still waiting on the sun. Getting started on my blog site now thanks to your inspiration.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
