Day 156 Still Waiting on Weather

 

Filling our Propane. The dog stroller makes a perfect buggy.

Jessica and I are still waiting out the windy period. It has been rainy and drizzly all day so the weather has kept us down below on Methuselah most of the day. However, we did manage to get out and walk down to the end of Bimini to fill our propane bottle. We saw the school children getting on the ferry to go to South Bimini.  We also watched the weekly delivery of goods come off the mail Boat. We are hoping to get in another day of snorkeling before we leave the Bahamas this weekend when the weather gets better.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
