Day 157 5 mile Walk Around Bimini

 





After yesterday’s rain, we were anxious to get out & about.  We went to the laundromat and were surprised to learn they required masks….what memories that brought! We took a long walk on the beach and enjoyed the sunshine and lower humidity.  This windy weather that we are experiencing even prevented the cruise ship from coming into port in Bimini, so it was nice to walk the streets without cruise ship tourists forgetting to drive golf carts on the left side of the road.  The weather models are predicting a favorable opportunity to cross the Gulf Stream to FL on Sunday / Monday.

After nine months of planning and preparation, we finally left the dock today. Today is our two year wedding anniversary. Thanks to Chris for surprising us with coffee and donuts in the clubhouse this morning. Paul threw the dock lines on Methuselah, and Debbie and Chris took some pictures as we left Blackbeards. We will celebrate our anniversary on anchor in Beaufort tonight.

Day 3

  We got a good night sleep despite the gunfire from Camp Lejeune.     We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and we made our way with following winds and tides down to Wrightsville Beach where we met my good buddy Dennis at the dockside restaurant for a late lunch.    Picked up a Mooring ball at Carolina Beach and had a nice stroll on the boardwalk with Allie testing the bark collar….she wore out the battery!    We hope by the time we get to the Bahamas, she will be used to people and dogs in strange towns.

Day 2

  Left this morning from Beaufort with a cool motor down the intercoastal waterway past Swansboro and ended up anchoring in mile hammocks Bay at Camp Lejeune. At times the motoring got a little monotonous so we decided to play with the WebCam and get these    cute pictures.    Tomorrow, the weatherman promised us the sun!
