Day 172 A Very GOOD Friday
This morning, we toured the Castillo de San Marcos fort. I have always been impressed by the way that Jessica enjoys reading all of the signs in a museum. With nothing but time on our hands, I too read every single exhibit narrative today. Then we returned to the restaurant that Jessica‘s Aunt Susannah recommended that has an excellent salad invented in 1905 that is absolutely delicious. Then we made our way to the St Augustine Distillery and toured the old ice house that now houses the barrels and has the stills to make the bourbon whiskey. We also toured the Presbyterian Church that was built by Flagler himself. He struck it big with the oil industry along with Rockefeller, but he built this church in memory of his daughter that died at childbirth. Our plan is to return for Easter Sunday morning service. Then we took a dinghy ride over to the other side of the harbor and hung out on the beach with Alli. Indeed, it was a Good Friday, on a day we have to remember what Jesus did on the cross for our sins.
is that a hair cut or did you get your head stuck in a cannon and Jessica pulled you out?
