Day 173 St Augustine Easter Parade & Cannon Firing
This is the punishment area for kids that do not behave in the first wooden school house in America.
We started the day by watching the Easter parade in downtown St Augustine. Then we went to the oldest wooden school house in America. We got a kick out of the punishment area underneath the staircase where they would lock the bad kids. And if you could not answer a question properly, you had to stand in the front of the classroom with a Dunce hat. Boy have we come a long way since those days. Since the water is free in America, I gave Alli a bath on the dinghy dock. Jessica did a load of laundry and I got in the water and scraped some slime from the bottom like I do every three weeks. However, when I got out of the water this time there were thousands of baby shrimp stuck to my wetsuit. Then we took an Uber to the grocery store and re-provisioned before we venture north again starting tomorrow. Our grocery store we chose was Walmart and again our jaw dropped when we saw the selection that Americans are offered at box stores.
Canon firing from the fort as seen from Methuselah.
Have Jessica check your ears for Shrimp! Happy Easter!
